Charities – Making a World of Difference All Over The World

Not only does the Momference bring self-empowering, educational and fun sessions to our participating moms, we are committed to helping other mothers and families in need. Momference donates 10% of all net registration proceeds from our events to charities that support women and families. This year, we are pleased to announce the following worthy charities that benefit from your registration:

American Heart Association – Go Red for Women

www.GoRedForWomen.org

be one in a million – do it for your heart

The American Heart Association is challenging one million women to stop heart disease and Go Red For Women. Women can understand their personal risk of heart disease – the No. 1 killer of women – by taking the Go Red Heart CheckUp, an interactive on-line assessment of their heart health.

By taking the Go Red Heart CheckUp, you’ll know your personal heart disease risk for the next 10 years. To learn your heart health risk, it is important for you to know your numbers. Just by seeing your healthcare provider and getting a blood test and blood pressure test, you can have the numbers you need to determine your risks and mark the progress you’re making toward a healthier heart. Even if you don’t have all your numbers, you can start the Go Red Heart CheckUp and get an overview of the numbers you need to know to complete the CheckUp at a later time.

Assess your heart health now. Take the Go Red Heart CheckUp

NATIONAL NETWORK TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (NNEDV)

www.nnedv.org

"The NNEDV is a social change organization that is dedicated to creating a social, political and economic environment in which violence against women no longer exists. We are dedicated to making domestic violence a national priority.

NNEDV is the leading voice for domestic violence victims and their advocates. As a membership and advocacy organization of state domestic violence coalitions, allied organizations and supportive individuals, we work closely with our members to understand the ongoing and emerging needs of domestic violence victims and advocacy programs. Then we make sure those needs are heard and understood by policymakers at the national level.

NNEDV offers a range of programs and initiatives to address the complex causes and far-reaching consequences of domestic violence. Through cross-sector collaborations and corporate partnerships, we offer support to victims of domestic violence who are escaping abuse relationships – and empower survivors to build new lives.

NNEDV further supports the fight to end domestic violence by providing state coalitions with critical information and resources. From training and technical assistance to innovative programs and strategic funding, we bring much-needed resources to local communities. At our national and regional meetings, members share information and ideas with NNEDV staff and with each other, working together to develop comprehensive solutions."
